10 ways to obtain a K-1 Fiancee Visa

If you are an American Citizen and  are engaged to a foreigner immigrant. You may be eligible for a K-1 visa.

A K-1 visa is a United States nonimmigrant visa benefiting fiancés and fiancées of US citizen petitioners.

  1. Make sure that your 100% the K-1 visa is a long, drawn out process and requires much patience and tolerance. Think about things and do a bit of research of your own and begin your journey.
  2. Filing the K-1 Visa Application If there are concerns about saving money the 2 of you can submit the paper work yourself instead of retaining a lawyer. The wait be prepared to wait for a least 4 months or so until your petition approval, while you wait you may join a support site called www.visajourney.com and share your journey with other’s who have been through or who are presently going through this.  In the meantime, it is suggested that you gather additional evidence of your relationship and find a hobby or something to keep you busy for the next 4 months or so. Save phone bills, Instant Messages, Letters, receipts as proof of your relationship this will be requested at the time of your interview.
  7. Once your petition is approved and it should be approved providing that you are 1. In a real relationship, submitted accurate information, and your future spouse is an American Citizen. Now you moved to the next step, preparing for the interview. (the most important step of all) Gather all your evidence that you been saving for all those months, and get ready to file your next part of the application.  The USCIS and NVC (National Visa Center) will guide you in your additional steps that you will need to take. Also, you can reference www.uscis.gov for any additional information/fees.
  8. Submitting 2nd part of the paperwork to the overseas consulate (fiancé’s country) This is fastest part of your process, gather all evidence, forms, pictures, phone bills, as referenced in step #6.  The approval letter from USCIS will state the next step and instructions to follow, then the National Visa Center (NVC) will forward your case to the embassy of your finace’s country  (at this point you will wait for the interview)  www.usembassy.gov
  9. The interview this is the most difficult part since you waited all those months for this day, and your fate is in some stranger’s hands. Do you a favor have faith, stay calm and just be truthful and everything will work out. After all you came this far.
  10. Planning your fiancé’s homecoming this is the fun part and try to sit back and just enjoy it and start your new lives together.
