So you think you may have met Mr./Ms. Wonderful online, and think hmm could it be possible?  Could it be fate? Maybe not who knows.  Internet dating is very common today there are many people doing it from business men, to single mothers, to the girl or guy next door.  Don’t forget to be careful because sometimes there are predators on the internet who prey on innocent people by acting like someone they are not.  If and when considering dating off of the internet, take these 10 tips below into account.

• Talk online, get to know the person, have basic conversation nothing to personal, give yourself time and see how you feel.  If you are ok and want to move further with things.

• Exchange pictures, get a few at least 3 or 4 to see if this person is physically your type.  If not be honest with the other person.  If you are interested then check the pictures carefully to see if anything jumps out and gets your attention.  If you still feel ok with things then
• Talk on the phone try to keep the conversation very basic (about life) try not to give out any personal information at this point.  For females when chatting on the phone.  If you’re the caller, be sure to block your number when calling him.  (*67) then the number.  For the ladies, if at any time you feel this guy is getting to personal with you about private issues or the discussion is turning into a sexual discussion end the call immediately, put him on block and refuse his emails from this moment on.  By this time the guy should show where his head is and his expectations on you.   Remember follow your instincts. But if all goes well…
• Keep in contact for at least a month or so if you’re truly interested in getting to know this person a little more try to talk at different times of the day.  This will determine if the person is telling the truth as well.  If you feel comfortable enough with this person then plan to chat on webcam and have a webcam internet date.
• Plan a webcam internet date, remember while chatting on cam the person can see your home very clearly so make it a point to chat in a room with a blank wall with very little around you.  This will do a few things 1. It will prove that it’s the person in the picture, 2. Show you the person’s mannerisms.  If after the web cam conversation you are still comfortable enough with this person you can plan to meet in person coffee/tea date.  Remember do not let anyone pressure you into meeting if you do not feel comfortable even if this person threatens to terminate contact with you.  (your safety is the most important thing) You need to feel safe so make sure your meeting on your terms “ONLY”
• Meet in a very public place and you can even ask to bring a friend, (if this person is a decent person he/she will understand) because if it goes well it won’t be like this forever.  Keep it short but get a feel for this person, you will get to see this person’s temperament and how he/she handles him/herself in public.  Do not ever let the person pick you up or know where you live at this point.
• Tell a friend or a family member that you’re meeting off of the internet and where you are going. (if you do not take a friend)  Tell just a person that you can trust, make a time to call and check in with this person. This way this person will know that you’re safe.
• Do not leave with this person in his/her car no matter what the circumstance may be.
• Only if you decide to see this person again, try to get his/her license plate number and make and model of the car.  You can even text or phone your friend with it.  When you`re leaving the date make sure your not being followed.
• Keep an open mind, and be cautious.  In today’s world things aren’t always what they appear to be.  Remember this person is a stranger and if you plan on furthering things take it slow.  Pay attention to everything.  Follow your gut.

Good luck, who knows maybe it is possible to find love on the internet.  Again, internet dating has become very popular.   Just remember and keep in mind until you get to know this person you did meet him off of the internet.
