10 Random Acts of Kindness for the New Year
 
 
 
At one time or another we all may think about turning over a new leaf as the New Year begins and how this year will be different for each and every one of us. I figured since we have started a new year and we now have a new president, that this would be wonderful opportunity for a fresh start. Perhaps something as little as doing things for a stranger or to make someone’s day or to just give a little of yourself, you can and will make a difference. Below I will list 10 random acts of kindness they are very simple and do not require a lot of work or time and every task may have big benefits for the receiver of the random act of kindness. Sometimes the smallest gesture goes a long way. Try it and see.
- When at the supermarket let the person behind you get in front of you in line.
- When driving in your car allow the person in the next lane to go in front of you, or say thank you when the person allows you to go in front of him.
- Give a home less person money for a meal or maybe even buy a blanket or a new coat and hand it to him.
- Buy flowers for a coworker that needs to smile or perhaps a coworker who is going through rough times leave them on her desk without her knowing who brought them for her.
- Help and older person who is carrying grocery bags or help them to cross the street
- Give up your parking spot at the mall or shopping center.
- Put your shopping cart back in the place where it came from.
- Call an older relative just to say hi and that you were thinking of them, perhaps if you have time, ask them to have lunch with you. (your treat)
- Surprise a neighbor bake a cake and take it over to their house thank them for being a good neighbor
- Send a letter to a teacher who has touched your life in a special way and let this person know how much they mean to you
